CornCHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade corn futures closed higher on Thursday, supported by a falling dollar and soaring equities and crude oil, as optimism over progress in resolving the euro zone debt crisis washed over the financial markets.

* World stocks surged and the euro jumped to a seven-week high against the dollar after European leaders agreed on a sweeping plan to address the debt problem.

* USDA's weekly export sales report showed net export sales of US corn last week at 361,500 tonnes, below estimates for 650,000 to 900,000 tonnes.

* Overall satisfactory weather was in the cards for the weekend through next week in the US Midwest, which will allow farmers to make rapid progress harvesting the 2011 corn and soybean crops.

* December ended above at its 200-day moving average of $6.51, a bullish close. The nine-day RSI was at 58, below levels considered overbought. 1:18 PM CDT
