Opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has made it clear the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) will not backtrack on its stance on Women Protection bill.
Talking to a delegation here on Sunday, he said they will not accept any other bill except the Ulema committee's amended one. He said if the government tries to get the passage of the bill they are ready to resign from assemblies.
While expressing his indignation over Bajaur and Dargai incidents, he said they are part of a conspiracy, which hurts the image of the country. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the entire nation has rejected the foreign policy of the government.
He advised the government to discard its policy of attacking religious madaris and parties to appease the USA and take steps to establish law and order, and remove unemployment, illiteracy, poverty and vulgarity.
The opposition leader termed the work of rehabilitation in quake-hit areas as inadequate and slow and asked the government to immediately complete the process so that the victims could be saved from winter season.
He lauded Al-Khair Trust for its services in quake-hit areas and said it has done excellent job in all five districts of Azad Kashmir.
