According to latest reports, President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to new CJP in a ceremony held at President House in Islamabad.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, federal ministers, judges of the Supreme Court (SC), and chiefs of all three armed forces were present on the occasion.

Before taking charge as a judge of the Lahore High Court on May 22, 1998, he was an advocate of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Lahore High Court Bar Association between 1982 and 1998.
