RECORDER REPORT: PSX close of day

KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Thursday having 46699.78 points with a negative change of 293.53 and volume of 133,708,590 shares.

High and Low were 47202.02 and 46665.52 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 270,429,110 shares with 384 total traded companies out of which 124 were up 239 were down and 21 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 46,015,800 shares. It was followed by TRANSPORT with a total traded volume of 40,096,300 sshares.

The three top traded companies were Engro Polymer with a volume of 15,637,000 and price per share of 17.52 (0.34), Sui North Gas with a volume 6,758,000 of price per share of 75.09 (0.64), Nishat (Chun.) with a volume 4,911,000 of price per share of 60.65 (0.86).

The top three advancers were Pak Tobacco with price per share 1115.05 (53.25), Island Textile price per share of 1105.00 (41.00) and Sanofi-Aventis share of 2410.96 (37.49).

The top three decliners were Bata (Pak) with price per share of 4555.00 (75.00), Unilever Foods with price per share of 5650.00 (50.00) and Wyeth Pak Ltd share of 4654.44 (41.18).
