ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over deaths in Havelian plane crash and directed the concerned departments to accelerate rescue operation at the site and cooperate with family members of passengers.
According to Dunya News, Nawaz Sharif has directed to utilize all resources possible for rescue operation near Havelian after a domestic flight of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) crashed carrying 40 persons.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has condoled the loss of lives in the crash.
On the other hand, Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered authorities for immediate action and formed a five-member committee to probe the plane crash. The committee will submit its report within three days.
Rescuers said that all bodies of the victims have been recovered from the site of crash and shifted the Islamabad where DNA tests will be carried out for the identification of the victims.
A PIA plane carrying 47 people crashed Wednesday on a domestic flight from the mountainous northern city of Chitral to Islamabad, killing all persons on board. The plane took off from Chitral around 3:50PM and PIA said the plane crashed at 16: 42 local time (1142 GMT) in the Havelian area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 125 km north of Islamabad.
