8 private members' bills introduced in Senate

imageISLAMABAD: Eight private members' bills were introduced in the Senate on Monday and seven of them were referred to the concerned standing committees and remaining one was deferred.

Bills are included the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Right to Information Bill, 2016, the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Juvenile Justice System (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Islamabad Prohibition of Expressing Matters on Walls Bill, 2016, the National Commission for International Law and Commitments Bill, 2016, the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The bills were introduced by Senator Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Kamil Ali Agha, Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, Karim Ahmed Khawaja, Zaheer ud Din Awan and Nuzhat Sadiq.

State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr. Tariq Fazl Chaudhary while opposing the bill moved by Sardar Azam Khan said the Prime Minister had already approved the summary to segregate Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad. The summary had been sent to Law Division to propose necessary amendment to the Act.

Chairman Senate deferred the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues (Amendment) Bill while referred other bills to the concerned committees for further deliberation.
