HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session on a high Tuesday on hopes Hillary Clinton will win the US presidential election, while mainland dealers brushed off another weak round of Chinese trade figures.
The Hang Seng index added 0.36 percent, or 82.02 points, to 22,883.42 by the break.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.61 percent, or 19.19 points, to 3,152.52 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.66 percent, or 13.62 points, to 2,080.43.
