imaadaISLAMABAD: Pakistanis admire the services of Japanese NGOs, which made considerable contribution in natural calamities.

The people of Pakistan see Japan a sincere friend and important development partner, Pakistan's Ambassador to Japan, Noor Muhammad Jadmani said while addressing representatives of 19 Japanese NGOs.

Of those 19, some NGOs have rendered meritorious services for the socio-economic uplift of Pakistan and played vital role in relief activities after the earthquake of 2005 and devastating floods of 2010.

The Ambassador said today's gathering was to provide an opportunity for interaction not only between Pakistan Embassy officers and the NGOs, but also a chance to different Japanese NGOs working in Pakistan to know each other better and combine their efforts to conduct their activities in a befitting manner.

He said next year Pakistan and Japan would celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, said a press release reaching here from Pakistan Mission in Tokyo.

He appraised the NGOs of the year long events planned by both sides including Pakistan Bazar to be held on 24-25 March 2012 in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo.

Speaking on the occasion, Nakahara Masataka, Director General South Asia Department JICA, informed about the ongoing fine (5) billion yen projects in Pakistan.

He said JICA projects include education, health, polio eradication, disaster relief, water supply, sanitation, environment improvement, and agriculture and power generation.
