Egypt mobile phone July subscriptions up 29pc

egypt-mobile-phoneCAIRO: The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Egypt grew 29 percent from a year earlier to 77.76 million as of July, government figures showed on Sunday. In June the number of mobile phone subscriptions was 76.43 million. In July 2010, Egypt's three mobile operators – Etisalat Egypt, Mobinil and Vodafone's unit in Egypt -- had 60.273 million subscriptions.

Egypt is the Arab world's most populous country, with more than 80 million people.
