Four persons, including two children, were killed when the roof of a house in Kot Murad Khan here collapsed over them during the heavy wind and rainstorm, which lashed the city and its suburbs on Friday night.
Police sources said Sughra Bibi (45), wife of Tufail of Mohallah Mai Jiwai along with two of her children Allah Rakha (eight) and Allah Ditta (three), had taken refuge in the house of a neighbour, as part of her own house had caved in during the last rains.
However, the roof of the house they had considered safe also caved in, killing all the three as well as the house owner. Her husband rushed over from the adjoining house to help but to no avail and he was himself injured in the effort to remove the debris and save his family.
The local police handed over the bodies to the heirs after necessary formalities.
