The Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) Board of Governors has approved Rs 338.895 million budget for the year 2005-06, showing expenditure at Rs 326.792 million and surplus amount at Rs 12.103 million, at a meeting held here with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sayid Nazir Ahmed in the chair.
The Board also authenticated its revised budget of Rs 287.832 million for the year 2004-2005.
The highlights of the budget 2005-06 includes an increase in funds for scholarships from Rs 13 to Rs 20 million, provision of Rs 5 million for specialised foreign teaching staff, provision of Rs 6 million for additional posts of Professors & Lectures, additional Bio-Medical, Electronic, Computer and Civil Engineering Laboratories, latest equipment for Engineering Laboratories, provision of Rs 5 million for expansion and modernisation of library, provision of Rs 2 million for research scholarships and Rs 3 million for purchase of latest edition of books, Rs 0.8 million for publication of Research journal besides an increase in the employee's salaries.
