Members of the NWFP assembly standing committee on excise and taxation members expressed concern over the reported irregularities in computerised number plates of vehicles and decided that ex-Director Excise and Taxation along with the contractors concerned should be called for next meeting to deal with the matter properly. The committee also discussed para-wise questions submitted by the members of the Assembly and reserved decisions in this regard.
The provincial body held its meeting under chairmanship of MPA Dr Mohammad Zakir shah at NWFP Assembly Secretariat Conference Room on Thursday. Members of provincial assembly Mureed Kazim, Mohammad Nadir Shah, Maulana Mohammad Mujahid, Maulvi Abdul Razzaq, Maulana Mohammad Idrees, Engineer Hamid Iqbal, Qari Gul Azeem, Qazi Mohammad Asad Khan and Mrs Yasmin Pir Mohammad Khan attended the meeting. Secretary Excise and Taxation Attaullah Khan, DG Excise Abdul Jalil Khan, Deputy Secretary NWFP Assembly Ghulam Sarwar, DS Law Salim Khan and other officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Sub Committee of Public Accounts Committee on Home (Police) was held under the chairmanship of MPA Shahzada Gustasip Khan at the Opposition Chamber of NWFP Assembly Secretariat on Thursday. MPAs Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat, Pir Mohammad Khan, Muzaffar Said and Khalid Waqar Advocate attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed progress report in connection with the misuse of official funds in the purchase of uniform and other goods for Police Department in Dir and other areas.
