Complaint Cell to voter’s registration from Oct 14
ISLAMABAD: A Complaint Cell would start working from Octob
r 14 to address the complaints of the legislators in connection with the reported anomalies in the ongoing voter’s verification campaign of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Interior Minister A Rehman Malik said while replying to a point of order raised by PML-N legislator Saad Rafique, pinpointing anomalies in ECPs voters verification campaign that is being continued across the country from Aug 21 to Oct 31.
Admitting some anomalies in the ongoing verification of electoral rolls, he said the complaints of members regarding non registration of voter’s in their respective constituencies would be addressed on priority basis.
A meeting of the political parties would be called soon as the government wants to rectify anomalies if any in the voter lists, he said.
Earlier Saad Rafique, a PML-N member of August House speaking on a Point of Order pinpointed grave mistakes in the on going voters verification campaign.
He said that the names of at least 36 percent voters of his constituency have not been registered. The last date for verification campaign should be extended further.
He said in his constituency the addresses of at least 600 voters of Walton Lahore are wrong.
