Ranveer Singh is said to be the Golden boy for Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Bollywood; apparently, Ranveer is getting insecure by Shahid Kapoor’s presence in his next movie and has asked SLB for a second look into his own role. Some media reports says that the ‘Ramleela’ actor, who will play a role of Alauddin Khilji in his next movie ‘Padmavati’ has asked the filmmaker for a script narration and asked for a second look into his own role a few weeks before the film shoot starts.
According to the DNA India report, “As Ranveer for the very first time is going to play a negative role, Bhansali has given him some terrific dialogues, and scenes. But the comfort level between the actor and director changed when Shahid Kapoor came on board as the Rana of Mewar, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, who is also Padmavati’s (Deepika Padukone) husband in the movie.” Shahid agreed once his role became well defined and he and Ranveer were on an equal footing. To be fair, Ranveer has every right to ask to see the script when there is another hero in the film. Especially because this is the first time, he plays a negative character, which goes against his good boy image, while Shahid plays a dashing Indian Raja.
The leading Indian daily also reports an insider as saying, “SLB will give him his joint narration with Shahid, if Ranveer so wishes, just like he got one for ‘Gunday’ with Arjun Kapoor. Some of Ranveer’s contemporaries have had bad experiences in two-hero projects, so he is being extra careful. It is better to be safe than sorry.”
Currently, Ranveer Singh is busy shooting for his next release ‘Befikre’ while, Shahid Kapoor is busy with ‘Rangoon’.
