imageWe all come across black and white photos one way or another. It could be your old family pictures or some history assignment.

The problem arise when you want these pictures to be colorized, typically you have to seek out an expert in Photoshop or any other designing software. Not anymore, there is a new service available on Algorithmia, which does the coloring for you and also for free.

According to Verge, the new service called ‘Colorful Image Colorization,’ simply colorizes your black and white photos in seconds. All you need is to paste the URL address of a black-and-white image and click ‘colorize it, and see the magic happens. The results can be sometime very striking.

imageNow how does it work? As per reports, the algorithm works on ‘Deep Learning,’ meaning that the program learns through knowledge and experience.

And the good news is that the colorization tool is just one part of Algorithmia’s API, which does everything from summarizing English text to extracting links from a URL, and also detecting faces in images.
