Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai became the latest victim of hackers after his Quora account was hacked, by the same group of hackers, which previously hacked Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts, last month.
According to Daily Mail, the hackers that call themselves ‘OurMine,’ have seemed to found access into Pichai's Twitter account after finding vulnerability in Quora. The hacker group initially wrote, ‘hacked’ using his account. “Hey it’s OurMine, we are just testing your security, please visit OurMine to upgrade it,” it said in posts, reported The Verge.
A Twitter spokesperson however informed that micro blogging site itself had not been hacked, reported the MailOnline.
“We are confident that these usernames and credentials were not obtained by a Twitter data breach – our systems have not been breached,' they said. “In fact, we've been working to help keep accounts protected by checking our data against what's been shared from recent other password leaks.”
The thing that remains unclear is how the group is able to gain access to such high profile accounts. Reports have said that the group claims that it uses various methods of exploits to pull passwords from celebrities’ browsers.
