Hours after legendary singer Amjad Sabri gunned down in Karachi, another religious figure Farhan Ali Waris had been attacked near Teen Hatti, Karachi on Wednesday. He however survived the attack after the counter firing by his security guards.
According to local media reports, Waris said his car was surrounded by unidentified assailants near the Teen Hatti area of the metropolis. “They were about to open fire but left as they noticed my guard positioning himself,” he said.
According to reports Waris was going back to his home after taking part in program of a private TV channel. The gunmen fired on his car but due to timely reaction of his guard, the attackers flew the scene.
Waris is known for rendition of Nohas on television channels.
