The Punjab government will spend an amount of Rs 300 million in next three years for the promotion of higher education in the province.
Punjab Governor, Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) stated this while addressing the convocation of Hajvery University here on Thursday.
The governor maintained that Pakistan was becoming a hub of regional trade, hence immense opportunities existed there for the students to excel in their respective fields, and contribute in the development of the country.
He asked the students to closely watch the changing scenario and choose the respective fields in accordance with requirements of the society.
Atif Mushtaq of Hajvery University said on the occasion that the university would also extend educational facilities to the people of Southern Punjab by establishing a campus there.
Students of computer science, fine arts, fashion designing, and commerce were awarded degrees, medals and awards on the occasion.
