Labourers engaged in the construction of "Shah De Khoi", under-pass at new campus canal damaged the 1,500 lines cable thus disconnecting entire adjoining areas with PTCL network.
Divisional engineer, PTCL, Faisal Town exchange when contacted told APP here on Wednesday that "we informed the contractor well ahead of the start of construction work about the exact location of the "Cabinet" and network of underground cables but they did not care and totally damaged the entire cable."
He said that now entire area of Wafaqi Colony, Jinnah Hospital and partial areas of Johar Town and Faisal Town have been badly affected.
In this regard, he said, special mobile teams have been constituted to restore the disconnected telephones on war footings.
