A Pakistan-based American journalist was deprived of jewellery, electronic items and other valuables during his travel on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from New York to Islamabad on Monday night.
Mohammad Salim, (passenger) said on Wednesday that the staff of national flag carrier had stolen his jewellery set, Samsung mobile E 713 and wrist watches from the luggage during his journey in Islamabad-bound PK 718 from New York.
The affectee told Business Recorder that he had locked his luggage comprising two suitcases and one handbag at New York airport before departure.
When he landed at Islamabad International Airport on Monday night, he found that locks were broken besides missing one suitcase, he said.
Saleem said that such activities would badly tarnish the image of PIA as people would refuse to travel in the wake of such incidents.
He appealed to the Managing Director PIA to take serious notice of the issue and give exemplary punishment to the employees found involved in these activities.
