Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that negotiations between Indian and Pakistan leaderships would bear positive fruit which would help in complete normalisation of relations, lasting peace and bilateral trade between the two countries.
He was talking with the visiting Indian delegation led by Rajya Sabha Vice Chairperson Ms Najma Heptullah. Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Ellahi was also present on the occasion.
Shujaat said that exchange of parliamentary delegations is the need of the hour as exchange of views between the legislators from India and Pakistan would help in understanding the systems of both countries and would go a long way in resolving the outstanding issues.
He said that already the relation between the two countries are heading in positive direction due to frequent exchange of various delegations and contact between the masses from across the border.
He pointed out that solid efforts for maintaining lasting peace between India and Pakistan are being launched for the first time and the intellectuals, analysts and media persons from both countries could help in making these efforts a success.
Najma on this occasion invited Shujaat to visit India.
