ISLAMABAD: Leader of PML-N, Tahira Bukhari Monday said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be helpful to strengthen Pakistan's economy.
Talking to a private news channel, she said the civil and military leadership was on same page and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif categorically stated that the Pakistan Army would provide foolproof security to this project.
She pointed out that Pak-China friendship was spread over decades and it was developed soon after the creation of China.
China had invested 46 billion US dollar in Pakistan by announcing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which was not a single road but a package of project, she added.
She said "This project is a game changer and it will link Pakistan with Central Asian countries."
The government was striving to strengthen the national economy as it was the result of its prudent policies that the exchange rate of dollar had been reduced in the country.
Replying to a question, she said the economic indicators were showing progress in the economy whereas around two dozen international economic rating agencies and institutes had also appreciated the prudent policies of Pakistan.
Tahira said, "Our government will overcome the energy shortfall by 2018 and then the industrial sector will be revived due to supply of uninterrupted energy."
