ISLAMABAD: Vegetable ghee and cooking oil production during last eight months of current financial year registered growth of 5.65 percent and 8.83 percent respectively.
Domestic ghee production was recorded at 826,154 metric tons during the period from July-February, 2015-16 as compared to production of 781,696 metric tons in corresponding period of last year.
According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, during the period under review about 258,942 metric tons cooking oil was produced as compared to the production of 237,923 metric tons of same period last year.
Meanwhile, the data reveled that blended tea production grew by 14.72 percent during last eight months as about 93,470 metric tons of tea produced.
The blended tea production was recorded at 81,480 metric tons in first eight months of last financial year, the data reveled.
However, during the period under review, wheat and grain milling decreased by 1.77 percent as it came down from 4,014, 889 metric tons to 3,943,820 metric tons.
The other commodities which posted negative growth in their production included soft drinks by 5.44 percent and juices 3.2 percent, it added.
