IRSA increases water discharge from Mangla, Tarbela dams

imagrtysISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday increased discharge of water from Mangla and Tarbela dams as both the reservoirs had attainted their maximum conservation level of 1210 feet and 1550 feet respectively.

According to the data, IRSA released 424,072 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 428,185 cusecs.

The maximum water level in River Indus at Tarbela was 1550 feet which was 172 feet higher than its dead level of 1378 feet.

Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 171,900 cusecs while outflow was recorded as 171,300.

The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla was 1210.00 feet which was 170.00 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 105,602 and 102,089 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 212,306, 166,213 and 182,980 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from River Kabul a total of 30,000 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 120,683 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.
