WASHINGTON: US stocks rose solidly on opening Thursday after news of a concerted global move by central banks to provide dollar liqudity to the eurozone.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by 0.85 percent in the first five minutes of trade, while the S&P 500 was up 0.87 percent and the Nasdaq rose 0.75 percent.
