BNP shares leap 12.06pc, French index up 3.87pc

PARIS: French bank shares leapt with BNP Paribas stock rocketing and the CAC 40 index gaining 3.87 percent on Thursday after central banks announced action to provide banks with dollars.

BNP Paris shares leapt, then eased to show a gain of 12.06 percent to 29.86 euros, Societe Generale by 8.23 percent to 18.87 euros and Credit Agricole 7.32 percent to 5.60 euros.
