PARIS: Shares in Societe Generale plunged more than 7.0 percent after trading opened on Wall Street on Wednesday as US orders arrived on the market following the French bank's downgrade by Moody's.

At 1350 GMT, shares in Societe Generale slid 7.09 percent to 16.63 euros. The CAC-40 index gained 1.32 percent.
