Pak, Iran cooperation in trade beneficial for region
ISLAMABAD: Expert international and regional affairs Dr Shaheen Akhtar said that Pak-Iran cooperation in trade and other sectors will be beneficial for two countries and region.
Talking to PTV, she said boosting economic relations with Iran is imperative in regional perspective.
She said after withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, regional interests will prevail and Iran may play strong role in the region.
She said prosperity will prevail in the region and the people will get maximum opportunities of jobs owing to increased bilateral relations of Pakistan and Iran.
Replying to a question, she said Pakistan is facing shortfall of energy, which is affecting economic progress of the country.
She, however, advised the government to see own interests in its trade and economic relations with Iran while ignoring any pressure.
