ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will pay a two-day official visit to the State of Kuwait from Feb 14 to 15.

During his visit, the Prime Minister, among others, will meet the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Muhammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

"Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with the State of Kuwait and the Prime Minister's visit will help further enhance the bilateral relationship, which is multi-faceted and rooted in mutual respect and affection", a foreign office statement issued here on Saturday said.

Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy excellent relations and the two brotherly countries share common values, faith and traditions.

"The people of Pakistan take pride in the development of Kuwait under the sagacious and visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait", the statement added.

Kuwait is host to a strong Pakistani community of about 150,000, who are actively contributing towards the economic development of the country. They also act as a strong bridge between the two countries, the statement concluded.
