Pakistan, Romania sign economic cooperation agreement
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Romania Monday signed an agreement on 'Economics, Scientific and Technical Cooperation' to promote cooperation between the two counties in various fields of economy.
Both the countries also agreed to establish a Joint Commission to identify new development opportunities between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Division, Abdul Wajid and Romanian Ambassador, Emilian Ion here at Economic Affairs Division.
The agreement envisages promoting cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, agriculture, forestry, energy sector, research and development.
Besides, it is also aimed at cooperating in the fields of telecommunication, computing and informatics, transport, logistics, environment protection, tourism, investment, SME sector, education, health and science and technology.
Under the signed Agreement, Pakistan-Romanian Joint Commission would be set up to work for identification of new development opportunities.
The commission would also develop proposals for economic cooperation of the government institutions besides establishing an ad-hoc or permanent export workings groups and committees of both the countries.
The commission would hold its meeting at least once a year alternatively in Pakistan and Romania and would review progress of decisions undertaken in the previous meetings.
