Altaf Hussain accuses ANP of seeking to disintegrate Pakistan
KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has accused the Awami National Party (ANP) of seeking to “break Pakistan.”
Addressing the media in a video conference from London, the MQM chief said, “I am also addressing those who want to break Pakistan up.”
Speaking further, Altaf Hussain said that the history of Pakistan being taught in institutions is not based on facts and is not what Jinnah envisioned.
Carrying the accusing further he said that during the 2008 elections ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan was provided several million dollars by the US.
“If I was against Pakhtuns then why did they support MQM across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it (MQM) announced day of mourning” Altaf said.
During the video conferencing the MQM Chief said that innocent people were tortured and slaughtered by terrorists in the past days. “If I was not the chief, I would have been killed or taken someone’s life,” he said.
Atlaf Hussain also criticized Zulfiqar Mirza who had placed the Quran on his head during his news conference. Altaf Hussain said the Quran was for reading and obtaining knowledge.
The MQM chief said that TV anchors were making statements against the MQM, which is an act of dictatorship.
He also said that he was being threatened.
