syed-qaim-ali-shahKARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that Pakistan is the land of brave people, who had always given sacrifices and struggled for security and protection of the homeland.

He said this in a message on the occasion of "Defence Day of Pakistan" being observed on September 6 in a befitting manner throughout of the country.

Chief Minister Sindh paid rich tributes to the martyrs of 1965-War imposed upon Pakistan, in which our soldiers and the people had successfully defended the homeland.

He added that inhabitants of Pakistan are unitedly striving to face the challenges.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah further said that the present wave of terrorism and activities of criminals have disturbed the peace of Karachi, but Sindh government with the support of federal government and law enforcement agencies, was striving hard to strictly maintain the peaceful atmosphere in Sindh particularly in Karachi.

He further said that it is prime duty of government, law enforcement agencies, NGOs and civil society to work unitedly for the common goal of security and defence of the country.

Qaim Ali Shah appealed the people particularly the well-to-do section to come forward and assist the people suffering due to heavy rains in various districts of the province.

He added that the houses of poor inhabitants of affected areas have collapsed and damaged, crops have been affected and people are suffering from various diseases and many of them are without any shelter.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that provincial government had made adequate arrangements to tackle the situation and providing relief, health care, shelter and other facilities to the affectees.

The Sindh CM appealed to the philanthropists to help the needy people and extend assistance the help of those affected people.
