5.5 magnitude tremors rattle parts of KP
ISLAMABAD: A medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted several parts of Khyber Pakhtukhwa including the provincial capital Peshawar early Saturday morning.
According to metrological office, the tremors shook different districts including Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Chitral, Dir and Malakand divisions, private news channel reported.
The epic center was somewhere beneath Hindukush mountain range, met office said.
No casuality, injury or loss of property was reported as a result of the quake.
Met office said the duration of tremors was for a few seconds however people rushed out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses of Holy Quran.
