KARACHI: The faithfuls in Karachi like elsewhere in the country and the globe would observe the Juma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan- ul-Mubarak, in the metropolis with religious reverence and traditional spirit, on August 26.
The last Friday of the month of Ramazan bears special importance for the Muslims as they offer Juma prayers in large number and prominent scholars are also invited to big mosques to highlight the significance of the day through their speeches.
All town administrations in the city have performed cleaning in the surroundings of the mosques and Imambargahs situated in their respective areas to facilitate the faithfuls.
It may be noted here that the Muslims across the world observe the Juma-tul-Wida as Youm-al-Quds to express solidarity with people of Palestine in their struggle against Israeli subjugation. The decision to observe this day throughout the Islamic World was taken at a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) about two dacades ago.
A rally would be taken out by Imamia Students Organisation to mark the Youm-al-Quds from Numaish Chowrangi to Tibet Center here.
A special prayers would also be held for the prosperity and development of the country and promotion of unity and brotherhood among the Muslim Ummah.
