Legendary Pakistan Bowler Wasim Akram has praised Pakistani batsman Younis Khan, saying that he deserves place amongst pantheon of greats in Test cricket. Younis became the fifth Pakistan batsman and 62nd overall to play 100 Tests during the second match of the series against Sri Lanka last month.
According to local media reports Akram said that, “Younis doesn’t get the recognition in world cricket that he deserves, insisting that the batsman is as good as any player in the world in Test Cricket”.
Akram added, “Younis truly deserves to be counted in the list of current great Test batsmen, featuring stalwarts such as A.B. de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Michael Clarke and Steve Smith. Akram also described Younis as a true ambassador of Pakistan cricket and one of the all-time Pakistani cricketing greats”.
Younis Khan would be calling time on his glorious international career soon. He has highest successful chase in history when they surpassed the target of 377 runs and Younis Khan has made his 100th Test appearance in the second match, ended the game just 19 runs away from surpassing Javed Miandad's tally of 8,832 runs to become Pakistan's leading scorer in Tests.
