GENEVA: Swiss stocks fell across the board Wednesday to close down 4.12 percent to 4,791.96 points, in line with major bourses worldwide as investors became increasingly nervous over nagging debt fears.
Temporary staffing group Adecco fell the most, plunging 10.78 percent on weak quarkerly results to 34.5 francs per share, and luxury watchmaker Swatch dropped six percent to 324.8.
Banks were also hard-hit, with Julius Baer plunging 5.38 percent to 27.08 francs per share, UBS dropping 5.38 percent to 10.03 and Credit Suisse falling 3.45 percent to 21.0.
