MQM lawmakers are still ministers
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the resignations by members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had not been accepted yet; accordingly, they were ministers thus far.
Talking to media after prize distribution ceremony held in honor of Motorway Police here, he said the provincial government had been directed to submit report on Karachi situation, adding the report would be published as soon it was received.
"Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai is a citizen of Kashmir and we will give our stance as facts regarding charges against him are brought to the fore," PM Gilani stressed.
Pakistan will not capitulate to any such move to establish Indian hegemony in the region, he stressed.
Commenting on the financial crisis currently facing Pakistan Railways, he said all financial requirements of the department would be fulfilled and directives in this regard have been given during cabinet session.
PM Gilani said he, having taken notice of distortion of statistics in tax revenues, directed the finance minister to take action.
