imageDisney has confirmed plans for the fourth installment of the popular animated series ‘Toy Story’. The movie will be a love story and will start from where ‘Toy Story 3’ left off.

According to foreign media reports, Disney chief executive Bob Iger confirmed that director John Lasseter, who helmed the first two movies, is returning to head up the new Pixar project, which will be released in June 2017. Lasseter said, “A lot of people in the industry view us doing sequels as being for the business of it, but for us it’s pure passion. We only make sequels when we have a story that’s as good as or better than the original”.

The last installment of the ‘Toy Story’ series was the money-spinning franchise which came out in 2010 and raked in more than $1bn at the worldwide box office.

Pixar created the world’s first computer animated ‘Toy Story’ which was later bought by Walt Disney Company for $7.4 billion which was considered an overly expensive move at that time. Lasseter is one of the co-founders of Pixar, and also serves as Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where his creative input has contributed to its latest renaissance, foreign media reported.
