Riaz asks Nawaz to avoid politics of polarization

LAHORE: Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed has warned Nawaz Sharif to eschew playing politics of hatred and polarization and drop the idea of 'grand alliance' to defeat an elected government.

"The idea behind opposition parties' grand alliance is mere lust of power," he said while talking to PPP MPAs at his chamber on Monday. Raja Riaz alleged that PML-N leader has once again come out trying to destabilise peoples elected government to serve his personal interests. "But, politically conscious people would not be deceived by his attractive but hollow slogans".

He said, PML-N is ruling biggest province of the country and to cover misdeeds and corruption, its leadership has started undue criticism on federal government. "PPP government is fully stable under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and faces no threat," he added. Raja Riaz observed that Nawaz Sharif when failed to pitch peoples’ party and the Army against each other, is bent upon to use other political parties for ulterior motives. He said PPP won AJK elections because of its popularity among people of Kashmir.

He said PML-N leader spoke against federal government during his election campaign in Azad Kashmir. Opposition leader warned that if PML-N tried to steal AJK, Lahore seat elections again they would foil their rigging tooth and nail. He asked party MPAs to remain present at the polling stations on the day and refrain PML-N activists from forcing voters to cast their votes in their favour.
