Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where three ships carrying containers were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal on Thursday, June 30.
Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers, palm oil and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at 69% at the Port on Thursday where a total of nine ships namely C.V Nora Maersk, C.V OOCL Kobe, C.V CASV Cant brain, M.V Tamil Nadu, M.V Oriental-II, M.V Acacia-N, M.V Ataman, M.T Chembulk Tortola and M.T ZarN Vostok are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, canola seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 0.110 million tonnes, comprising 0.087 tonnes million imports and 0.023 million tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried In 2,480 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Four ships C.V OOCL Kobe, C.V CASV Cant brain, M.T Chembulk Tortola and M.T Zaliv Vostok sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
Three ships C.V MSC Glory, M.T Sea Lion and M.T Sc Tian Jin carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and LCT respectively on Friday, July 1.
Container ship MSC Sierra is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more ships C.V MSC Magali and C.V Angles are due to arrive on Saturday, July 2.
