ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence on Wednesday stressed for making fool proof security of the national assets and adopting necessary measures for preventing them from terrorist attacks in future.
The Committee met here under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, MNA, also appreciated the steps taken so far by Pakistan Navy.
The Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and Air vice Marshal, PAF briefed the Committee on the Mehran Base Attack.
The Committee was informed that four terrorists attacked the Mehran Base. Two separate inquiry committees were formed.
The internal committee has completed its investigation whereas the joint investigation team is still carrying out its investigation.
The Committee decided to take the issue again after the completion of the report of joint investigation team.
The Committee was also briefed on the disposal of recommendations made by it in the meeting held on March 14, 2011.
