imageKARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif is so upset with recent developments in national cricket that he was reluctant to takeover as the chief selector.

Outspoken Rashid Latif was named chief selector by Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi after the removal of Zaka Ashraf a few weeks ago.

He was to resume his duties on April 01 but he was sitting at home after completing his assignment as an analyst with Pakistan Television on April 6.

Interestingly, despite his appointment, Rashid Latif was yet to sign the agreement.

Rashid Latif expressed his displeasure over recent developments in PCB and Pakistan's stunning ouster from the league rounds of ICC World Twenty20 in Dhaka.

While talking to a private television channel, Rashid Latif seems that he may not be able to work in current PCB environment prevailing in the board.

"I don't want to work under any one except the chairman." he commented during his talk to the channel.

Rashid Latif, like the whole nation was shocked with Pakistan's defeat against West Indies, wanted to bring in ace batsman and ex-Test captain Muhammad Yousuf and former Test opener Wajahatullah Wasti as the members of the selection committee.

However PCB Chairman Najam Sethi wanted to retain Azhar Khan and Farrukh Zaman as the members which may have created problems and provided grounds for Rashid's reluctancy to takeover as the chief selector.
