KUMING: Minister for Publicity Department of China's Yunna province Zhang Tianxian has said that China and particularly his province attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan, safeguarding its sovereignty and promoting well being of the Pakistani people.
"We have great love for the people of Pakistan and their sovereignty and economic prosperity is very dear to us", he said in an interview with APP here.
"We have prepared a mechanism for promoting regular exchanges and deepening our economic partnership for mutual benefits", he said.
He referred to recent visits between the two countries at the top leadership and said these proved very fruitful to enhancing trade ties as both sides committed to achieve bilateral trade figure of US Dollar 15 billion by 2015.
The Minister also referred to Premier Wen Jiabao visit to Pakistan in December 2010 and said that it laid a strong foundation for promoting economic interaction and opening new avenues of cooperation for the well being of the people.
Minister Zheng said that China is hoping and looking for a bright future of Pakistan and the Yunna province wishes to contribute to achieve the desired targets.
Yunna province, he said could be a big market for Pakistani products including handicrafts, value added textile items, Onyx and other goods.
He said that we are prepared to offer Pakistani entrepreneurs all possible facilities for marketing their products in China.
The Yunna province, he added is becoming the gateway to the South Asia and South East Asian countries, as it provides easy transportation access for its neighbours, like Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
He appreciated the Pakistani businessmen for setting up over hundred stalls for marketing their products in South Asia Commodity Fair.
He hoped that more and more Pakistani businessmen will visit Yunna province to explore further possibilities for enhancing their trade with China for promoting economic partnership.
He assured that Pakistani businessmen will receive warm welcome in the local market.
The Minister also hoped that Chinese businessmen will also visit Pakistan to invest in the sectors of their common interest.
He welcomed the Pakistani media delegation for attending the Trade fair and said that their participation and articles on Sino-Pak relationship will create awareness among the people for enhancing their relationship.
