imageISLAMABAD: Kashmir Traders Federation (KTF) has expressed anguish over the harassment of Kashmiri traders by the autocratic officials at Lakhanpur checkpost.

Publicity Chief of KTF, Aijaz Shahdhar, in a press statement while expressing anguish over the harassment of traders at Lakhanpur check post said, the goods of traders from the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) Valley are stopped without any reason, KMS reported.

He said that the Commercial Taxes Department has put extra penalties and fines on the traders.

"Traders every year pay Rs5000 crore as the tax, putting extra penalties on them is a conspiracy to weaken the economy of the business fraternity of the Valley," Shahdhar said.

He said in a meeting attended by representatives of a number of market committees and leading businessmen of the Valley complained that their goods at the check-post are being unnecessarily stopped on one or the other pretext.
