Rs115248.567mn earmarked for power sector projects

ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked Rs115248.567 million for ongoing and new schemes in power sector in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year fiscal year 2011-12.

According to PSDP, out of the total Rs71070 million has been proposed for ongoing projects, Rs1225 million for new schemes while Rs42953.567 million for hydel projects in the upcoming financial year.

Rs18000 million have been allocated for Diamer Basha dam land acquisition and Rs2500 million for construction of Diamer Basha dam project Lot 1 to 5.

A sum of Rs10810 million has been earmarked for Neelum Jhelum Rs3241.841 million for Dubir Khawar, Rs2144.454 million for Allai Khawar, Rs1789 million for Golan Gol, Rs1124 for Jinnah and Rs650.956 million for Bunji Hydro power projects in the PSDP.

An amount of Rs14577 million has been specified for 747 MW Guddu power project, Rs13850 million for 525 MW Combined Cycle power plant at Chicho Ki Malian, Rs3845 million for 425 MW Combined Cycle Nandipur power plant and Rs1650 million for power system transmission enhancement project-II.

Rs1800 million have been earmarked for import for 100 MW power from Iran and Rs400 million for interconnection for dispersal of power from Barrage Mounted Kerkey Rental Power plant phase-1.
