MANILA: The Philippine Stock Exchange said it will extend trading on Monday by an hour to 1:10 p.m after a technical problem disrupted morning transactions.
The bourse said in a statement the problem was network-related affecting users using virtual private network (VPN) connections.
Trading stopped for about an hour shortly after the market opened and resumed at 11:02 a.m. [0302 GMT]. The Philippines has one of the shortest trading sessions in Asia, with the stock market open only for 2-1/2 hours up to 12 noon, excluding a 10-minute run off period.
As of 0414 GMT, the main stock index edged down 0.3 percent to 4,270.70 points.
