ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Ambassador to China Masood Ahmed Khan said on Tuesday that the visit by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to China is very important in the current situation .
He said after the incident at Abbottabad , China supported Pakistan as a good and trustworthy friend and has stood steadfastly by it.
He said that China and Pakistan both desired to strengthen peace in the region.
Talking to a TV channel, Masood Ahmed Khan said thatd China had fully supported and always lauded the role of Pakistan against terrorism.
He said that the leadership of China had also asked the international community to help Pakistan in its efforts to eradicating terrorism and extemism .
He said that both sides are striving to enhance strategic partnership since this vital for maintaining peace in the region.
He said China as a good and sincere friend also firmly believed that integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan should be respected. China had always assured of full support to Pakistan to become a prosperous and developed country. He said the assistance rendered by China in all fields of development had indeed been of immense value to Pakistan. He said Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani will hold talks with top leadership of China in all fields of mutual interest. These will of course
help forge ever close friendship between the two time tested friends
Replying to a question, he said this visit also offered an opportunity to celebrate the establishment of diploamatic relations by the two neighbous. It may be pointed out that Pakistan and China established diplomatic ties sixty years ago.
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza will also attend the functions to be held for celebrating the occasion.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan said that the two leaders will hold in depth discussion to promote "our strategic friendship and advance our practical cooperation in different fields and also will make our strategic partnership more productive and strengthen".
