KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that the relationship of China and Pakistan is time tested and growing further with the passage of time.
These relations between both governments and people would be strengthened further.
This he stated while addressing the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China and Pakistan diplomatic relations held at Bahria Complex here.
He said that the pioneer of those cordial and brotherly relations was Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was the architect of the friendship.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that with his wisdom, Pakistan came closer to China, which was clear from sentiments of Chairman Mao Dze Dung and Premier Zhou En Lai.
He added that United States had also approached Shaheed Bhutto to play a positive role for normalisation of relations between China and USA.
Chief Minister said that the relations between Pakistan and China were cemented owing to the wisdom of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He added that Shaheed Bhutto had stated that our friendship with China is higher than mountains and deeper than oceans.
Qaim Ali Shah pointed out that President Asif Ali Zardari was further strengthening the ties with China.
He also recalled the Chinese assistance in the wake of last year's floods in Pakistan.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Consul General of China in Karachi for arranging cultural programme to encourage friendship.
Earlier, Consul General of China in Karachi, Zhang Jianxin, presented the welcome address and said that the objective of the reception and cultural show was to mark the 60th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relationship.
He further pointed out that friendship of China and Pakistan is exemplary.
Deputy Director General of Standing Committee of Peoples Congress of Zinigiang, Muhametmin Yashen, highlighted the cultural relations between China and Pakistan and informed that he has brought a cultural troupe for performance.
The ceremony was attended among others by Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Provincial Minister Ms. Shazia Marri, Advisor to C.M. Rashid Rabbani, Special Assistant to C.M. Waqar Mehdi, and elites of the city.
Later, the cultural troupe gave a performance.
