KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim (PQ) where a ship carrying containers was allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday, Port sources said here Tuesday.
Meanwhile five more ship scheduled to load/ offload containers, diesel oil and chemical also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy at the Port was 40 percent on Monday where a total of five ships namely MSC Jade MN Rana, Majestic, Genmar and Compatriot are currently occupying berths to load/ offload cement, wheat and furnace oil respectively for the last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 25279 tonnes, comprising 14250 tonnes imports and 11029 tonnes exports including containerised cargo of 810 (TEUs) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
