JAKARTA: Indonesia's central bank chief said the consumer price index, which fell in September from the prior month, will again show monthly rises in October and November.
"Historically and due to the higher base effect last month, we expect that this month and next month there will not be deflation," Governor Agus Martowardojo told reporters on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the statistics bureau reported that consumer prices fell 0.35 inflation on a monthly basis in September. The annual inflation rate in September was 8.4 percent, easing from 8.79 percent the previous month and below a Reuters poll forecast of 9.03 percent.
